Immerse yourself in the enchanting athmosphere of Saimaa’s lake nature during two magical Saturdays in July – the 6th and the 20th. Join us for an unforgettable experience as we navigate the mysterious Yövesi, part of Lake Saimaa, aboard the charming old fishing boat Juno. Once you're on the island, we will treat you with the season's finest local culinary delights!
During the journey, the beauty of Lake Saimaa's nature unfolds at its best, and upon reaching the idyllic little island, dinner is served on the rocky shore with breathtaking finnish lake scenery.
The dinner is prepared on open fire by our residential D.O.Saimaa -chef Ilkka Arvola. Delicious four – course menu is filled with flavors of Saimaa and features the best seasonal ingredients from the surrounding nature. We grow large part of the ingredients ourselves and pick mushrooms, berries and herbs in the local forests. The fish is caught nearby in a seal-friendly way and the rest of the ingredients come from local producers. Many of our trusted suppliers belong to D.O.Saimaa producer network. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and food made from local and homegrown ingredients is our passion.

Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the price. If you want to enjoy wine or beer during the dinner feel free to bring your own. We are happy to give you drink recommendations to go with the menu.
Our island destination has a toilet, and the dinner is enjoyed under a canopy. While the realization of our island dinner is weather-dependent, should circumstances shift, our charming old log house by the shore of Lake Saimaa promises an equally enchanting dining experience.
Duration of the experience: approx. 4 hours (including 2 hours on boat). Departure from Nikinsalmi in Ristiina (Suurlahdentie 3189, 52360 Someenjärvi) at 5 PM. Uhkua is located 50 km from Mikkeli and 250 km from Helsinki.
Ensuring an intimate experience, our group size ranges from 4 to 12 individuals, and the dinner is set to unfold with a minimum of four participants.
