Situated close to the centre of Mikkeli, Urpola is a fun destination for the entire family. A nature trail follows the Urpola river with two campfire places along the way.
The Nature Centre operates in the oldest residential building in Mikkeli. The house dates back to 1782, and it is a historical attraction itself. The main building holds a nature exhibition every summer and offers information on the area’s history and nature of Southern Savonia. During the summer, kayaks can be borrowed at Urpola Nature Center for paddling on Urpola Pond.
