Muisti Centre of War and Peace tells of war to promote peace.
MUISTI CENTRE OF WAR AND PEACE WILL OPEN IN MIKKELI ON 4 JUNE 2021.
Muisti Centre of War and Peace is an interactive science centre of national importance that provides information about war in order to promote peace. It recounts the stories of people, particularly Finns and Finland at war, in the European and global context.
Muisti explains, conveys and records war-related events, experiences and information for future generations. Exhibitions and online services that deal with the phenomenon of war and use the latest information and communication technology lie at the heart of its activities. The exhibitions are interactive, and new exhibition technologies make it possible to bring history to life. The narrative exhibition invites you to identify with and immerse yourself in the lives of people who have experienced war.
The goal is to make visitors think about the reality and horrors of war, but also about our human ability to adapt to and cope with difficulties. The core mission of the activities is to instil a sense of respect for peace and Finland’s independence in the exhibition visitors.
The exhibition experience takes approximately two hours.
In addition to physical exhibitions, Muisti offers extensive online services and exhibitions. Muisti’s services also include a shop, a café restaurant, conference facilities and events.
